Our Core Values and Beliefs

OUR PURPOSE

God has placed an awesome opportunity before us to be a blessing to our community, church, and children. The formation of a Community Development Corporation will enhance the way we minister and serve as a body. Through the committed efforts of all of Antioch, we can make a bigger and better difference in this community.

This is the vision that God has given me for our church. We are responsible for our own actions, and God holds us accountable for interaction with our fellow man, for we are our brother’s keeper. (Gen. 4:96). The ministry mandate for the church is fivefold. It is inclusive and covers all the areas we need to be concerned with. The ministry of the church includes worship, minister, witness, and educational application. When we, the Church, allow the Holy Spirit to direct us in our worship of God, we will be truly motivated to meet the need we face through ministry. As the same Holy Spirit works in our lives, our personal witness of his touch helps us to educate those in our church and community. Application comes along with the commitment of those we educate, share our witness with, meet the needs of through ministry, and share in worship.

OUR EMPHASIS

Vision 2000 AND beyond will be a ministry that speaks to the general and specific needs of our church and community. It will take all of us to help—ALL of us. We have an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of all we come in contact with. God is our Father, Christ is our Redeemer, and man is our Brother. Our concern for our brother should motivate us to do all we can for each other.

OUR MINISTRY

Future Acquisitions

This fund will be used to purchase Items, Supplies, Appliances, Vehicles, Land and to pay for building repairs and renovations. These funds will need to come outside of the Tithes. The Tithes will be used to meet the total needs of the Church. All budget items will be the responsibility of the tithes (giving) paying.

All believers of Antioch are expected to share in this effort. When all of us Tithe and do our best, God’s program can go forward and the Church’s’ Vision becomes a reality for all.

The Boaz Group

Boaz is very prominent in helping to keep Family valuables in the family. The Book of Ruth is the story about the understanding of what a kinsman Redeemer is. Using Ruth as an example, there is a very important opportunity before us as a Church. We need to Redeem, Reclaim, Repurchase and even Repair our Neighborhoods with worthwhile Ministries, Services and Goods.

a) The Boaz Group will operate a Food Recovery Program, which will serve and help as many people as possible in need. We will use as many resources as there are available to meet this objective.

b) Boaz will operate a Juvenile and Adolescent Program. We will be involved with after-school tutorials, peer mediation and counseling, mentoring, and building self-esteem. This program will also attempt to teach Social Responsibility. Boaz will become responsible for College Scholarships for our young people who qualify, file and meet the criteria.

c) Boaz will develop a Housing Service Program. We will strive to educate those who desire ways to acquire ownership of property for living. Boaz will also seek ownership of property for it’s own operation. We will also seek ways to motivate the County and City Fathers to use funds for Urban Development and Renewal in our Community.

d) The Boaz Group will offer Workshops and Seminars for Churches in all areas. These services and/or consultation sessions will cover pastors, laypeople, youth, and all who have needs. We will make our services available to the private sector as well.

e) The Boaz Group will ultimately strive to put to work qualified workers in areas of need within its corporate setting.

f) We will be involved in Grant writing to get funds to meet the needs of its MINISTRY. However, it will take the efforts of our Church to guarantee the Solvency of The Boaz Group. We believe, as the saying goes, if you build a better Mousetrap, the world will beat a path to your door. Through the efforts of our church, we won’t only help our community, but we will also help ourselves and educate our children in the area of economic empowerment and self-help.
